Hi I'm Mat, and when I grow up I'm going to be a comic book artist.
Ever since I could hold a crayon in my hand, I’ve been drawing. With any luck it’s what I’ll be doing for the rest of my life.
I studied and graduated fine arts in what we French-Canadians refer to as cégep in 2005. I followed that up with a Bachelors degree in art, design and comic books in 2009. My work has been displayed in a few little art showings here and there, and I've even been published on two different occasions. I also just recently joined the Line it is Drawn on CBR as one of the contributing artists.
My ultimate goal is to become a working artist, the kind that doesn’t have to endure a demeaning day job.

P.S. I'm a little behind on social media and stuff so I'm kinda playing catch up in my spare time trying to set a few different things up simultaneously.

Don't bother reading my journals. Just years old garbage I forgot I ever wrote. I'll forget this one as soon as I post it. I draw because I do. When it's done I do another. Sometimes I draw more cartoony, sometimes more realistic, sometimes I break out some brushes. I used to think I was gonna do this for a living (the nineties were like that) now it's like collecting, I'm not doing this for profit, I do it because I like it. Because it occupies my time and requires a bit of creativity and bit of skill. I hate getting messages from nft dick-head dude-bro bitcoin "entrepreneurs" and I probably (most likely won't) respond to commission requests. I just draw what I'm psyched about and then I post it and I store the originals in a pile. I tell myself that I might one day sell the things. Or that someone will find them in a storage locker after my death and briefly fantasize of having uncovered something priceless. Only to discover that the stock paper would be more valuable if it had not been vandalized. I've been watching Power Rangers lately. They're even more terrible than I remember. I love it. Might draw some soon.

I now have a lowly starbucks job. I do not enjoy being pushed around and serving well dressed cretins.
I need work.
Paying art work.
I am open to negotiation but I'm of a mind that the pay should reflect my education and skill. Hence more than my current working rate for slinging coffee to ass hats.
